Line of Departure organises events throughout the country, including locally in Ullswater and brings together serving members of the Armed Forces, veterans, first responders and members of the public.
Funds raised through ticket sales are donated to the Duke of Lancaster’s Regimental Association, which supports serving and former members of the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment and their families. Participants will meet at Glencoyne Bay before entering the lake for the organised wild swimming
Chris Eccles, for Bowker MINI, said: "We're pleased to support Line of Departure and the work it is doing to bring together serving personnel, veterans and first responders. The Ullswater event provides an opportunity for people to connect with others while raising money for a military charity that supports members of the armed forces community."
Line of Departure was founded by former British Army serviceman and firefighter Matt Underwood. The group uses wild swimming activities to bring together serving military personnel, veterans and emergency services workers.
Based at Frensham Great Pond in Surrey, Line of Departure organises wild swimming events and is travelling to locations across the UK this summer to allow people in different regions to take part. The Ullswater event is one of a series of planned gatherings.
Matt Underwood, founder of Line of Departure, said: "It's great to have Bowker MINI backing this event. Every ticket sold helps support the Duke of Lancaster's Regimental Association, and the day is also about bringing people together, meeting new faces and sharing an experience in the water. Support from local businesses helps us reach more people and continue organising these events around the country."
People wishing to take part in the Ullswater wild swimming can register through the event organisers, with proceeds from ticket sales being donated to the Duke of Lancaster’s Regimental Association.
